Cindy Sproles
I’m so blessed to know this woman personally–an author whose poignant prose touches the heart and keeps readers on the edge of their seats.
I first met Cindy at what was once called Advanced Writers Bootcamp, which is now the Asheville Christian Writers Conference, with Cindy as its faithful director.
Held at the lovely Billy Graham Training Center outside Asheville, this conference is where I was also blessed to meet many other Christian writers more than a dozen years ago, several whom are dear friends to this day.
Cindy and I also wrote for a Christian publication called Common Grounds, which is no longer in print.
I’ve sat under her teaching at Blue Ridge Mountains Christian Writers Conferences on several occasions, where I learned more about the craft of devotion writing, and I’ve even been published in her and her ministry partner Eddie Jones’s online devotion site Christian Devotions Ministries.
Not only do Cindy and Eddie equip writers to write for Christian Devotions, they encourage blossoming writers to do so. Let’s just say…
They love to guide writers to publication, for God’s glory!
Personally, that’s one of the most beautiful things about this dear friend–her heart to help others, to encourage them and see them through to success.
Not long ago, another writer friend and I traveled to Kingsport, TN and had the privilege of sitting down to enjoy breakfast with Cindy. Over omelettes and waffles, we shared with one another–heard from Cindy, too, about what was her soon-to-be-completed manuscript, that which just released on June 27th.
This Is Where It Ends is her fifth novel, and she has two devotionals in print as well, the most recent being the beautiful and timeless Meet Me Where I Am, Lord.
From her “About the Author” section on Amazon, readers learn a bit more about this delightful storyteller–
Raised and living in the mountains of East Tennessee, [Cindy Sproles] spins tales of life in the deep crevices of the Appalachian mountains. [She] is proud of her mountain heritage and her desire is to see this culture live on in history.
And that’s exactly what readers receive from her works of fiction, and her most recent novel remains true to her authentic style. Her stories are truly like stepping back in time to experience life in rural Appalachia.
Whether you’re already a fan of Cindy’s work or this is your first time picking up one of her books, you won’t be disappointed–though you just might have to read This Is Where It Ends in one sitting, so captivating is her tale.
I hope you’ll step into protagonist’s, Minerva Jane Jenkins, story, learn her secrets. Each page will keep you comin’ back for more, and for those of us who love Cindy’s storytelling, we certainly hope her latest release isn’t where her writing ends!
This Is Where It Ends and her other novels are available on Amazon and can be found in wonderful bookshops where good books are sold, like Sassafras on Main in Waynesville, NC.
You can learn more about our spotlight author, Cindy Sproles, as well as her beautiful writing by clicking on her name. (And while you’re at it, sign up for her newsletter!)
Thank you, dear Cindy, for all you give to the world–for all you’ve given to me! I am so very blessed by you!
And to bless someone else, I’m offering a free copy of her book This Is Where It Ends to one lucky reader. Share a comment here and I’ll draw a name on Wednesday, July 12th, then ship right to your door (within the U.S. only).
Dear Jesus, please bless the words–yes, both spoken and written–You give Cindy Sproles to share! May the seeds she scatters bring You glory and bloom beautifully, bringing about a bountiful harvest, for the good of Your people. Amen.
