“… and a little child will lead them” (Isaiah 11:6 NIV).

“A” is for ‘A-nother’ day

Another day for you to play.

To slide down slides, and swing on swings,

To sing those songs ‘bout kites and things.

To ask your questions, to laugh and giggle,

To say, “Stop, Mosie!” when your piggies I tickle.

You’d ask for Papaw to push you too.

“Do blast-off, please, right to the moon!”

That’s what Lila and Emory say

When they come to our house to swing and play.

And that’s why I’m pouting as I sit right here,

Looking at the backyard without them near.

It seems so quiet—it’s way too calm,

Without their laughter, without our songs.

But I know without doubt, I really do

That if they were here, they’d tell me true–

“Stop your pouting and don’t be sad;

There’s joy in Jesus, and He makes us glad.”

Yes, that’s the lesson they’d share with me

If they were here and my pouting they’d see.

Though Littles, they’re good at teachin’  me lessons,

And sometimes it’s good to share our confessions!

So I’ll try to be patient as I count down the days,

Waiting for the next time they come to stay.

And I promise, I promise—I really do…

My sadness is just because I LOVE YOU!

And “A’s” another reminder of

Our ‘A-mazing’ Mosie and grand-girl love!

Dear Father, thank You for our grand-girls! Thank You for the times we get to spend with them. We ask that our influence in their lives would always point them to You. And please, Abba, when we’re missing them, help us to not grumble but, rather, be grateful, giving You praise for the wonderful Gifts of our grand-girls. In Jesus’s name, amen!

Question: Do you have grandchildren? What are some of your favorite things to do?

If, like me, it’s reading them wonderful children’s books, then you’ll love to share your answer(s). After all, if you do–sharing in the comments–I’ll add your name for a give-away.

One blessed participant will win author friend Michelle Medlock Adams’ new release The Dachshund Dash (End Game Press, 2024).

She adores her grandchildren, and her sweet story reminds us that there are so many lessons we can learn from Littles (children and wee Doxies too), if we’ll only listen!

Here’s what author Michelle Medlock Adams has to say about writing this, her most recent children’s book–

“After the success of Dachshund Through the Snow, I thought long and hard about the next book. I didn’t just want to write a sequel for the sake of continuing a series unless the second book would have a purpose. And, just like that, God dropped the next story of Crosby right into my heart. This story, The Dachshund Dash, takes place in the great State of Texas and showcases the true meaning of friendship, and more than that, it shows that being kind—even to those who are unkind–is always the right decision.

“I hope this book urges children to step out of their comfort zones and face challenges head on, and I pray it encourages readers to embrace the precious gift of friendship.

“This book is a fun adventure, and I think fans of Crosby are going to love him even more, and I hope that new readers will soon become fans of this determined little dachshund with a heart the size of Texas.”

I’ll be drawing a winner on August 28th! So, don’t wait–dash to tell me about your Grands!

(And if you don’t yet have any, tell me something else about a child(ren) in your life.)
